Doug Bulleit
Like his younger brother Dan, Doug’s professional career began early: as an apprentice draftsman in his father Louie Bulleit’s office. They all worked at a consulting engineering firm that practiced old-school drafting methods involving precise rendering and lettering skills. Unlike Dan, however, Doug decided to pursue an electrical engineering career (vs. continuing to hone his illustrative art acumen as his younger brother would).
By and by, as Dan was staking out his art career in Colorado, Doug became a partner in the Atlanta-based architectural/engineering giant Heery International (now Turner & Townsend Heery, LLC). Later, Doug founded an early internet start-up, which was acquired by BellSouth, where he eventually became the corporation’s Chief Strategist. Upon BellSouth’s merger with AT&T, Doug took the golden parachute offer and retired to his Blue Ridge Mountain home…sort of.
Still too young to be actually “retired”, Doug dabbled in several high-tech start-ups while picking up his love for art in the form of charcoal, and later oil, portraits for friends and family members. But Dan’s illness provided a wake-up call in several senses (see Our Story for more details).
This section comprises Doug’s work and services on offer here.
