Who we are

Founded in 1983, Bulleit Fine Art began as the house studio brand of American master oil painter, Dan Bulleit. Bulleit’s work is distinguished by its romanticism of the everyday, cinematic lighting, masterful realism, and deep emotional resonance. His paintings have been collected by the Indiana Heritage Arts Council and commissioned by notable clients including the University of Louisville, Morgan Freeman, and Fuzzy Zoeller.

Dan and his older brother, Doug, grew up together as sibling artists trying to stand out amongst their nine brothers and sisters, three cousins, and one pet monkey. Through all the noise at home, the brothers were each recognized early for their artistic talents, starting by copying the sketches that their father would jot down around the house in his free time.

As the years passed, the brothers’ paths diverged, with Doug leaving home for Purdue University to pursue a successful career in engineering, while Dan left home for Colorado to chase his career in the arts full time.

Toward the end of a battle with cancer decades later, Dan would make a trip down to Clayton, GA, where when not in Atlanta, Doug was spending most of his time at his idyllic cabin tucked away in the Blue Ridge Mountains. As luck would have it, in semi-retirement, Doug had now been able to reconnect with his artistic roots by taking up painting and drawing once again. The two would reconnect over memories of childhood and talk shop over the latest trends in the fine art market. Soon, dreams of a new kind of gallery would begin to materialize.

Sadly, Dan’s journey was cut short on December 27, 2021. While Dan is no longer with us, he has lived on through his vast portfolio of work and the many fans who still support him to this day. A few years after Dan’s passing, Doug would approach Dan’s wife, Susan, and son, Sam, to continue the dream he and Dan began during that visit a few years prior. The result is what you see here, a new Bulleit Fine Art that has emerged to honor Dan’s legacy and support his belief in art as a powerful storytelling device to uplift others.

As the primary representative of Bulleit’s extensive body of work, the gallery is committed not only to preserving his artistic legacy but also to championing contemporary artists who share his belief in art’s power to uplift and inspire. We provide a platform for emerging and established artists whose work embraces visual storytelling, offering them the opportunity to connect with collectors around the world.

Each quarter, we release an exclusive selection of limited-edition Giclée prints, meticulously crafted using the highest archival standards to ensure longevity and museum-quality reproduction. This rotating model keeps our offerings fresh and highly collectible while maintaining the rarity of each release.

Bulleit Fine Art is also proud to sell original artwork from our represented artists in a variety of ways.
